Events!

We’re pleased to have Professor David Lindauer visiting Seoul in 2 weeks. Prof Lindauer is the Stanford Calderwood Professor of Economics at Wellesley College where he has been a member of the faculty since 1981. You are invited to the following events:

Oct 31st (Sat) 12:00 -- Luncheon with Professor Lindauer.At Yedang Korean restaurant (tel: 546-2525, between Sungsu bridge and Dosan Park intersections)

Oct 28th (Wed) 5pm – Lecture by Professor LindauerThe lecture is organized by Scranton College, Ewha Womans University and will be held at the International Education Bldg Rm 1401. Topic: Trade, Aid or Immigration: How Can We Help the World's Poor?

**Fall 2009 Newsletter**

Greetings Wellesley alums!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful autumn. Chusok is right around the corner and in the spirit of reconnecting with family and friends, we wanted to take the opportunity to say hello to our fellow Wellesley friends.

During the past year, we were fortunate to have several club events for fellow alums from a wide range of classes to get together and below are some highlights (and pics).

We are looking forward to more fun and interesting club events in the coming months so please keep an eye out for event notices. Also, if you have any suggestions for the club or updates you’d like to share with the other members, please drop us a note.

** Updates **


Lee In-Ho (’60) and Kim Young M’Young (’78): have been involved and supporting YEOL, a non-profit, volunteer organization established for preservation of Korea’s cultural heritage, providing lectures, field trips and publications.

Kim Hunmin (’80): professor of Public Administration has been appointed Dean of Scranton College at Ewha University.

Jennifer Becky Chang (’87): who works at CBS radio has also been working at CNN as Korea correspondent.

Leighanne Yuh (’92): is a visiting professor at Korea University and is the first female professor in the Korean history department.

Arcadia Kim (’95): gave birth to her second child, Sienna Hee-Jin Kim in May.

Seven Sisters’ Thankgiving Dinner: November 27th (Friday)
Save the date! In conjunction with the Seven Sisters’ club in Seoul, we are planning a Thanksgiving dinner on Nov 27th. We’ll update you again on the details, but most likely, we will opt for a non-Turkey menu.

Admissions Tour- April 15th & 16th

** Come meet the new Director of Admissions, Heather Ayres **

Heather Ayres will be in Seoul as part of her Asia tour representing Wellesley College at various international high schools. She is replacing Robin Gaynor who had been the admissions representative for many years. We are arranging an early dinner event (or snack if you choose), to welcome Heather to Seoul and hear exciting updates on Wellesley campus life as well as updates from the Admissions office. If you are interested in getting more involved with Wellesley activities and in helping promote our school to Korean students, this is an event not to be missed!!

Spring Brunch- April 18th (Sat)

Please join us for a Spring Brunch event on April 18th (Saturday). It's been a while since we've seen each other and it'll be wonderful to catch up. Also, there are some new joiners (or re-joiners) to the Seoul Wellesley Club so the luncheon will be a great way to reconnect!

Night of Harmonious Revelry, March 4th


The Seoul Wellesley alums had a night out for some female bonding at Alice near Dosan Park on March 4th, 2009. There was singing, dancing, a little drinking, and lots of fun.
